It has been reported that Hugh Hefner is trying to convince Ashley and her sister to pose for Playboy magazine in June for their 22nd birthday. He has been trying to woo them since their 18th birthdays. A source told Star magazine that Hugh thinks the twins are every young man's fantasy. While this may be true, the young moguls have yet to accept the invitation. This is a strategic move on Ashley's and MK's part. They want to be seen as classy lady's and I think there would be much disapproval by women fans if they decided to pose for Playboy. Since they are launching a clothing line and trying to appeal to high fashion women they need their fame and name to be in tact and for women to support them.
Do you think there is anyway that posing for Playboy could be beneficial? Maybe it could break their young girl image and prove to the world that they are mature and grown up. Could that maybe help their career and targeting and older audience for their clothing line and book?

I think the Olson sisters are well-off enough to never have to think about doing this now. I think they still have enough celebrity to gain them attention with some other publicity stunt. I'd say this type of stunt is usually done when there's not many other options to gain publicity.
I think the Olsens are making the right decision by not posing for Playboy...it will only hurt their career. If they want to be taken seriously and be seen as mature posing in a bikini is not the way to go. Maybe they need a breakout serious role in an upcoming movie.
I think it's great that the end of your entry came next to the photos of the girls on the cover of Teen Vogue. While I think it's good if celebrities are able to reach multiple target audiences at once, they have to make sure that pursuing a certain PR venture won't alienate any one of the groups they already have. With all of the "moral decay" in our society today, I think that any efforts to reach out to teens would be tainted with a Playboy feature, shoving them into the alcoholic Lohan, crazy Britney or pregnant Jamie Lynn category of celebrities. I agree that they should try to keep it classy -- there are other ways to reach mature audiences.
